Over the course of a few years, the Hochkönigman has become one of the most popular trail-running festivals in Europe. This comes as no surprise as the Hochkönigman Festival trails offer athletes a perfect challenge of a very special kind. Trail running is not for everyone, but we would like to have all YOU with us again in 2021!
The breathtaking scenery and demanding routes offered by the Hochkönigman 2021 attract its competitors, men and women alike. The Hochkönigman 2021 is perfect for everyone who relishes the thought of taking on the challenge of a natural trail through the beautiful mountains of the Hochkönigman massif. HOCHKÖNIGMAN GOES INTERNATIONAL
The Hochkönigman Trail Running Festival is not only the most popular and one of the largest trail running events in Austria, but also the first Austrian venue which is part of the Skyrunner World Series 2021.
The Hochkönigman is part of the Skyrunner Austria Series 2021. The Skyrunner Austria Series consists of 5 competitions in 2021 and the grand finale will take place in Carinthia/Nassfeld as part of the Nassfeld Moutain Skyrtrails. At the finals, a prize money of € 4000 will be distributed among the fastest.

B’jaks Marathon Trail
At Austria's most popular trail running event in 2021 a wide variety of trails will again be offered. The Speedtrail with its 22 kilometres length attracts beginners and experienced runners alike and offers the perfect trail running experience at 1,277 metres altitude.
For endurance runners, the marathon trail with a length of almost 50 kilometres and 3,070 metres of altitude difference awaits. Here you can prove that you are made of the right wood! The Marathon Trail demands endurance, consistency and all your efforts. As a reward, you will be rewarded with the most beautiful views of the Hochkönig Massif, which awaits you with all its pure power!
Hard Core experience for Hard Core athletes: the Endurance Trail goes over 85.3 kilometres at an altitude of about 5,160 metres and demands everything from the participants.
The "higher, faster, farther feeling" is for all those who dare to approach the Hochkönig Skyrace, which will be held for the first time in 2018.
With its length of 32km 2,685hm+ it leads high into the Stone Sea.
The Hochkönigman: event schedule
New since 2018 is the extended EXPO and event area. It offers the athletes even more space for preparation and follow-up. For the public, the new grounds offer more space to be there and for the varied show program of the Hochkönigman. The gastronomy and trade fair area should not be missed, and in 2021 new products and top products for trail running will also be on offer here.

Also released in 2018 was the Easy Trail with a length of 10km and 300 vertical meters. It's the perfect race for beginners and for everyone who wants to experience Trailrunning for the first time.
Sweat, compete, run, and have fun. The Opening Obstacle Race offers all this and more as part of the Hochkönigman Trailrunning Festival. The race contains obstacles such as fences to climb over, straw hurdles, tractor tyres, a bouncy castle, tunnels, pitch dark black box, water obstacles, as well as competitors having to climb or duck under, and all the time being spurred on by the good atmosphere of the spectators in the bustling resort centre of Maria Alm. Individual starters or teams of 2 complete 2 laps, each of approx. 3 km.
